Which is why sugary stuff feels like it gives you instant energy. Then there are foods that are instant mood lifters. Processed sugar is also more easily absorbed by the system than natural sugars which may take time to break down. And because fruits contain fibre also, the sugar is not that easily absorbed into the bloodstream.
